What Agate buys
Agate buys bullion — gold, silver, platinum, and palladium coins, bars, and rounds — through its buyback program. You do not need to be an existing Agate customer to ask for a quote.
Tell us the metal, the product, and the quantity, and we will give you the current buyback price for your pieces and walk you through the next steps. Because buyback prices follow the live markets and move with spot, quotes are given on contact rather than posted on this page.
How selling to Agate works
- Contact us for a quote. Email support@agatemetals.com or call 716-829-9997 and tell us what you're selling — metal, product, and quantity.
- Get the current buyback price. Buyback prices follow the live metal markets and carry roughly a 2–3% spread. We will confirm the price and the current terms for your specific pieces before you ship anything.
- Ship your metal — insured, tracked, signature required. Once your buyback is arranged, send your metal fully insured and tracked, with signature required on delivery.
- You carry the transit risk until delivery. Until the shipment is delivered to us, the risk in transit is yours — so insure for full value and keep your tracking records.
For the current terms on your specific pieces — including how and when you are paid — contact us at support@agatemetals.com or 716-829-9997 and we will lay them out before you ship.
Selling vs. returning — the difference
Bullion has no ordinary returns at Agate, because metal prices move constantly. If you bought bullion and want to exit the position, the buyback on this page is the route — we buy the metal back at the buyback price instead of processing a return. Non-bullion accessories are different: they can be returned within 7 calendar days of delivery, with a 15% restocking fee on returns made on days 4–7. The complete, published policy is on the store: Agate's return & buyback policy.
